No, players don’t need prior volleyball experience to join. For beginners, we offer a Recreational level team dedicated to player development.
For volleyball play, it’s advisable for players to wear volleyball-specific shoes. These shoes are designed to offer optimal grip, support, and cushioning on indoor courts. It’s important for players to choose shoes that fit well and provide stability for lateral movements, jumps, and quick shifts in direction. Brands like Mizuno, ASICS, and Adidas have a variety of specialized volleyball shoes. While other athletic shoes might seem appropriate, they often lack the necessary grip and design tailored for volleyball. Trying on different models at a sports store can help players find the best fit for their needs.
Players should come equipped with the following: volleyball shoes, knee pads, and comfortable athletic wear. Additionally, please bring a water bottle. For position-specific gear, coaches will inform both players and parents.
Player attendance and commitment are crucial to our club. To make volleyball both accessible and affordable to all, we depend on sponsorships and donations for the kids’ memberships. Regular attendance not only demonstrates commitment but also aids in securing and maintaining these vital sponsorships. Players are expected to attend all practices and matches unless there’s a valid reason. Consistent absences may impact playtime during tournaments, our capacity to provide reduced-cost memberships, and could even affect a player’s membership status.
The club is organized into multiple teams based on age and skill level, including Recreational, Intermediate, and Advanced teams (Club Level).
The different types of hits in volleyball include the spike, the tip, the roll shot, the back-row attack, and the block-out.
In indoor volleyball, a set is won by the first team to reach 25 points and have a two-point lead. If the set goes to a tie-breaker, the first team to reach 15 points and have a two-point lead wins.
A block is a defensive technique used to stop the ball from crossing the net by jumping and extending the arms above the net. It is typically used to counter a spike or attack from the opposing team.
